CADDIE PROGRAM

Maketewah’s Caddie Program is a source of great opportunity on and off the course. Our Caddie Program helps develop young individuals by surrounding them with positive role models, encourages a strong work ethic, and helps develops strong communications skills. As a Caddie, you will have a chance to work with our Membership, staff, and fellow caddies from all over Greater Cincinnati.

The WGA Evans Scholarship

In 1930, the Western Golf Association and celebrated amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans Jr. established the Evans Scholars Foundation. The Foundation’s mission was to provide full tuition and college scholarships to caddies with limited financial means. The Evans Scholars Foundation provides full four-year college tuition and housing scholarships to students with a strong caddie record, excellent grades, outstanding character and financial need to Ohio State University and Miami University.

The first two Evans Scholars enrolled at Northwestern University in 1930, and since then, more than 11,050 outstanding young men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars. Currently, a record 1,100 caddies are enrolled at 22 universities across the nation as Evans Scholars, and more than 11,800 caddies have graduated as Evans Scholars since the program was founded.
